Better Homes Kingston
The Better Homes Kingston Program actively helps you make your home more energy-efficient and climate-friendly through a single portal. Previously, it offered up to $40,000 in loans at zero per cent interest for energy-efficient upgrades. Applicants could even get 30 per cent upfront to pay contractors.
The BHK program is no longer accepting applications for the pilot. However, the next phase of the program is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026.

Home Renovation Savings
This program was launched in early 2025 and has now been extended to Dec 31st, 2026 by the Ontario government with the help of Enbridge Gas and IESO. Certain upgrades like windows and insulation require an energy assessment whereas upgrades like heat pumps and solar do not. Applicants must be either Enbridge gas customers or live in an electrically heated house to take part in this program.
The Canada Greener Homes loan can be used in conjunction with the Home Renovation Savings program to finance home energy upgrades.
Get up to $7,700 for insulation, $100 per window, $250 for air sealing and $500 for heat pump water heaters through the Home Renovation Savings program.
